Summary of 1st day

I'm writing again the english version of the news :)

So today after having siesta 'til 5 o'clock pm we came into our classroom for a short briefing. We soon realized that Nikos (the boss) made already some assignments to the car. Means when having an alarm we march out in predefined groups and cars. Two of three Steyr's were already assigned, as well as the smaller cars. The biggest fire truck (Magirus-Deutz) was still available and Nikos meant to assign this one to the swiss boys - as well as one very reliable ESEPA-Fan (he was here over the 8 past years...). So we got the best car and we are mainly responsible for street accidents, house fires and of course forest fires. That we got this car may also be due to our other swiss friends which stood in the camp before and got an excellent reputation - thanks to Pesche :D

After inspecting the car we went out for a little exercice (of course with flashing blue light) and climbed up the hill in full formation. Our job was to empty the water tank on this TLF and therefore we built a B pipeline (75cm) reduced it to a C (55mm) T-adapter with a special adapter and run with a D pipeline (something around 30mm) up the hill. After this 3min act we were observing the foot troups digging around, the other TLF's building long pipelines and enjoyed the beautiful weather and nature here in greece.

Back to the camp we ate and then exited to visit the village we're living beside. It's a small and nice peace with a kind of bar/restaurant in every house close to the street and a loooot of motorbike drivers without working lights or brakes or helmets or whatsoever... ;)

So long for now - good night and cu tomorrow
